Shiny Shiny Stainless Steel

Well it will be a real shock to my mother that I am writing my first Holloways’ blog about cleaning!  I may not be the greatest housekeeper on the planet but at Holloways we are always getting questions about the best products to use for brand new (or maybe not so new) stainless steel appliances.  I’ve tried a lot of products for my stainless steel appliances and this is my run down for you…

Pure Awesome:  Twinkle!  I do not think there is ANYTHING better!  It is a wonderful product that makes your stainless steel appliances look amazing with no streaking.  Just spray a little bit and use a soft cloth to buff it up to a fabulous shine.  While buffing, you should follow the grain of the stainless steel.  Did you know that stainless steel has a grain?  Step back and you will be able to tell whether the grain goes up and down or side to side.  We sell Twinkle for $12.95 a can!

Pretty Darn Good:  Pledge Furniture Polish.  Yes, I said Furniture Polish!  If you are out of Twinkle, this is the next best thing.  Use the same directions as above.  You may need to do a bit more buffing to get the same results but it does look great afterwards.

Au Naturale: Olive Oil. If you are really in a bind and you need something to shine those puppies up…then try a little (and I mean a little) olive oil on a soft cloth.  If you are trying to use fewer chemicals in your home, this would not be a place I would use natural products on a regular basis…but I do think this would work if your mother-in-law were on her way over!

Best,

Laurie
